Bridgewater a poor choice

SHARE Bridgewater a poor choice

I was dismayed about the appointments of the new educational advisers. To appoint Tim Bridgewater as the sole adviser for public education when he has spent many years fighting against it is very short-sighted on the part of Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. The majority of Utah residents do not support tuition tax credits, while they do want choice in and greater funding for public education.

Although Mr. Bridgewater is resigning his positions from these organizations, his views are not open-minded. How can he claim they are open when he has spent so much time against the very organization (public education) that he is supposed to advocate for now? Gov. Huntsman's mind is obviously already made up.
