Gertrude Roemer Kowallis Olsen 12/02/21 ~ 1/24/05 Gertrude Olsen, 83, passed away at home January 24, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born December 2, 1921 to Karl August Kowallis and Johanna Roemer in River Heights, Cache County, Utah. She married James Irven Olsen March 24, 1947 in Reno, Nevada. He died July 25, 1990. They had one son, Irven Karl Olsen. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and sang with three of her sisters. She attended River Heights Elementary and South Cache High Schools. She was a beautician and owned her own shop. She worked with Jimmy in their caf and pursued many interests. She loved to garden. She is survived by her son, Irven Olsen, Salt Lake City, one sister, Mildred (Ralph) Goddard, Salt Lake City, Utah and one brother, Richard (Nancy) Kowallis, Orem, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, and six sisters. She missed her twin, Phillip, who died the day he was born. The viewing will be January 28, 2005 from 10-11 a.m. in the Lake Hills Memorial Chapel, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah. Interment: Lake Hills Memorial Park.
