Cleo Christensen 3/15/31 ~ 1/26/05 DELTA - Cleo Ladd Christensen, 73, passed away Jan 26, 2005 in Delta. Born Mar 15, 1931 in Delta to Lawrence and Madge Rollins Christensen. Cleo was 15 when his father passed away. He and his older brother, Derral, ran the farms and cow herd. At 18, Cleo was drafted into the army during Korean War. Enlisted 1953-55. When Cleo returned home, married Mary Loree Moody on Nov 19, 1955 in Sutherland, UT. Later solemnized in Manti Temple. They raised several foster children. Two, Jim and Jay Averett, stayed with them for awhile and were very special in Cleo's heart. In 1960, adopted first of five children, Clay, and last child was from Korea. Loved cattle and horses, and spent entire life farming and feeding cattle. Cleo had many good friends and accomplished everything he ever wanted. Cleo will be truly missed. Wade Christensen, Salt Lake City; Brad (Alecia) Christensen, Delta; daughters: Cindy Christensen, Reno, NV; Loralee (Doug) Tolman, Salt Lake City; Foster children: Jim Averett and Jay Averett, St. George; 13 grandchildren; sisters: Helen (Victor) Gremli, Long Island, NY; Donna (John R) Jordison, Salt Lake City; Carole Christensen, Salt Lake City; brother: Scott (Eleanor) Christensen, Salt Lake City; sister-in-law: Barbara (L. Derral) Christensen, Delta. Preceded in death by son, Clay Christensen; brother, L. Derral Christensen; sister: Joyce Christensen Pratt. Funeral services Monday Jan 31, 2005, 11 a.m. in Sutherland LDS Church. Friends call Sun, 7-8 p.m., at Nickle Mortuary, Delta and at church Mon 9:30-10:40 a.m. Burial Delta Cemetery.
