In reading Saturday's paper, I see the "Jones-Mascaro bill" is coming back. Why don't they call it what it is: "a child-limiting bill"? China has had one for some time, and it doesn't sound like it works over there. The real intent is to get people to have fewer children so they don't have to pay higher taxes. Someone helped my parents pay for my schooling and for the schooling of my children. I feel obligated to help pay for others. When I moved back from Arizona four years ago, I was taken aback by my school tax. It is three or four times higher than in Arizona.
Why don't we pass a law so we can get a tax deduction for donating money to our local schools? It seems to be going over well in Arizona.
