Phyllis S. Christensen, age 87, died Thursday, January 6, 2005 at her home in Overton, Nevada.
She was born May 3, 1917 in Daniels, Utah to Nymphas Nephi and Edna McDonald Simmons. On January 3, 1944 she married Allen Duane Christensen in Price, Utah. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1991.
Phyllis grew up in Daniels and Heber, Utah. She raised her family in Carbon County supporting her husband as he labored as a miner. They retired to Murray, Utah for 30 years before she moved to Overton to live with her son over the last year and a half. She was a very talented artist, and enjoyed crocheting and handicrafts. She loved being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons: Jack (Olga) of Kearns, UT; Kenneth (Shirley) of Centerfield, UT; Larry (Patricia) of Overton; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters: Lenore Peterson of Sandy, UT; Isaac Simmons of Sandy, UT; DeEtta (Jim) Hollinbeck of Salt Lake City, UT and LoaJean (Fred) Collins of West Valley City, Utah.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 12 Noon at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 So. Sandy, Utah, with visitations from 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2005 and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Heber City Cemetery. www.larkinmortuary.com
