Foundation to award 4 grants to Granite schools

The 100% For Kids Credit Union Education Foundation will award four grants totaling $22,344 to Granite schools.

A $4,818 grant went to Moss Elementary, 4399 S. 500 East, Murray, to purchase English software instruction to help limited English proficient students at the school.

Another $8,856 was awarded to Hillside Elementary, 4283 S. 6000 West, West Valley City, to purchase leveled readers, which are books targeted to students' individual reading levels.

A $3,670 grant went Jackling Elementary, 3760 S. 4610 West, West Valley City, to buy math and science supplies such as microscopes, globes and other items.

Also, $5,000 was given to Robert Frost Elementary, 3444 W. 4400 South, West Valley City, to purchase leveled readers for 560 students in the first through sixth grades.
