Patricia Carrigan Hancox "Pat" Patricia (Pat) Carrigan Hancox, 64, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2005 at her home in Anchorage, Alaska. She was born March 10, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Leslie Rawle and Betty McMullin Carrigan, the first of their six daughters. She graduated from Jordan High School where she used her beautiful soprano voice in singing with the acapella choir, talent shows and assemblies. Her voice led melodies of choir ensembles, duets with her father, and quartets with her sisters. Yet it was her solo voice that was sought by church and community leaders for their services and events. To her, the most sacred use of her talent was when she was invited to sing "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked" at a sacrament service held on a boat on the Sea of Galilee. She worked at the Deseret News in the library. She received a degree as a Certified Genealogist from BYU. In one year, she found over 1,000 names of her deceased ancestors. Pat was a member of the LDS Church and held many positions. She served a stake mission and was a Stake Family History specialist. Pat married Maitland Kenneth Hancox November 14, 1981 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Fillmore and Ivins, Utah and Anchorage, Alaska. She worked with the special needs children in the Anchorage School District. She enjoyed reading and loved her grandbabies. She would drop in after work and play with them. She went the extra mile for her family and friends. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Ernie Hancox, Michael (Melissa) Hancox and Joel Hancox; four grandsons, Selan, Daniel, Quinn and Nathan Hancox; four sisters, Joan (Lee) Smith, Claudia (Hugh) Davis, Coleen Driskill and Leslikae (Greg) Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Susan (Rick) Holt. Funeral services Saturday, November 12, 11 a.m., Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
