Kassahun Ayele, Ethiopia's ambassador to the United States, speaks at Utah Valley State College Wednesday, saying that his government needs the international community's help to fight the rampant spread of HIV and AIDS. He told students that in urban areas of Ethiopia, 12 percent of adults have HIV or AIDS. Ayele also said that HIV and AIDS are connected to poverty. "My government has made it clear that the No. 1 enemy and threat to our country is poverty," he said. He called for donations of medicine and testing kits for physicians.
