Salt Lake County pets of the week

Flower is an adorable spayed female domestic shorthaired cat. She cuddles and purrs and loves to play with people. She's 9 months old, so she fits somewhere between a kitten and a cat, but mostly she'll fit perfectly in your lap. Her adoption fee is $25.

This darling girl is Star, an 18-month-old border collie mix who has the most entertaining personality. She actually tries to talk, and she uses hilarious body language to express herself. She will be a quick learner, and she'll bond quickly with her new people. She is eager to please.

Flower and Star hope you'll help reduce the number of homeless puppies and kittens that end up in the shelters competing for homes. Bring your unsterilized pets — purebreds and mixes alike — to the Big Fix Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic, on Saturday, Nov. 19, in the parking lot. Don't miss this chance to take advantage of the discounted prices, which range from $20 for a male cat neuter to $50 for a female dog spay. Arrive early, intake begins at 8 a.m. Come visit fabulous Flower and super Star at Salt Lake County Animal Services, 511 W. 3900 South, or call 269-7499.
