If you purchased spring flowering bulbs, get them planted now. They need a chilling period of several weeks to months to make them bloom in the spring. If you are unable to plant them, store them in moist peat moss on the north side of a building so they will chill. You can then plant them next spring.
Fall cleanup means cutting back the herbaceous perennials that bloomed this summer. Mulch the materials you remove and then incorporate it back into the soil.
Red Butte Garden is sponsoring a floral-arranging workshop Nov. 19 from 10 a.m.-noon. Cost is $45 for members or 55 for nonmembers; seating is limited to 20. To register call 581-8454.
