I will agree with David Adamson (Readers' Forum, Nov. 9) that a "war on terror" is justified. However, he confuses the war in Iraq with the war on terror, two disparate and unrelated causes. These have been linked by the Bush administration and the conservative right-wing media, intent on blending the two into one all-encompassing package.

Unlike when Japan attacked America, terrorism has no central hub. Zacarias Moussaoui was a Frenchman of Moroccan descent — should we also attack Morocco? The war in Iraq has simply drawn attention away from the war on terror, which ironically enough, is a war that can never be won with warfare.
