Three cheers for the Granite School Board! In their decision to keep all schools open, they have handed a victory to every child, parent, teacher and administrator in the district. Furthermore, they have created a mandate for parents to approach the Legislature about increasing public school funding for the entire state.

As people began talking, an amazing group formed. The Friends for Education Coalition took the stand that no schools should be closed. Rather than cannibalizing each other, neighborhoods began working together.

Utahns have been whining about the dismal state of public education for years. Now Granite District has proven that administrators do listen.
