Salt Lake City police have seized 99 DVDs and videos suspected of being hard-core, noncable versions of pornographic movies.

Thursday night, a vice squad investigation of Bob's Magazine Shop, 360 S. State, found the material hidden in a basement under some scrap cardboard, according to a news release from the department.

The owner of the shop, Muhammad Iqbal Sial, pleaded no contest in 2002 to distribution of pornographic material and distribution of pornographic films, according to court records.

As part of a plea deal, Sial was placed on probation for 36 months, during which time he was not to violate any laws and submit to random searches of his store by law enforcement, court records state.
