STANSBURY PARK, Tooele County — One man is dead after a reportedly drowsy driver smashed into his car early Friday morning.
Killed was: Shane Davey, 34, Stansbury Park.
Davey was waiting to turn at the intersection of Village Drive and U-36, at about 5 a.m., when his small passenger car was struck by an SUV heading west, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce.
The impact was on the driver's side and killed Davey instantly.
Royce said the 38-year-old driver of the SUV admitted to falling asleep and running the red light at the intersection. He suffered only minor injuries. Charges are pending.
