SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Some two dozen young adults of the San Luis Obispo 3rd Ward spent Halloween evening trick-or-treating for a local homeless shelter.
A week before the Oct. 31 event, the young adults had distributed fliers throughout several city neighborhoods, alerting them to the project and listing the shelter's greatest needs, including blankets, towels, personal hygiene items and clothing.
"It was a very successful event on so many levels," said event chairwoman Jenn Hannegan. "All in all, we filled an entire truck bed with goods to take to the shelter."
