In the past week, those who are reading the Book of Mormon at the pace suggested by the First Presidency will have completed Helaman 5 as of Nov. 12.
To complete the book between Aug. 1 and Dec. 31 requires reading slightly more than a chapter and a half a day or about 11 chapters a week. Those who are reading by pages will complete about 3 1/2 pages a day, and will now be about on page 361. Others may be following equally workable schedules of reading.
The First Presidency Message in the August 2005 Liahona and Ensign magazines invites all members to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year.
"Those who read the Book of Mormon will be blessed with an added measure of the Spirit of the Lord, a greater resolve to obey His commandments, and a stronger testimony of the living reality of the Son of God," reads the statement.
