I have some questions for USU athletic director Randy Spetman. How come USU is the only school reporting actual people in the stadium when other programs across the country report actual people in the stands plus the tickets that were sold but didn't show up to the game? For example, Utah reports 35,000 attendance at a game but about 10,000 of them must be dressed as red seats. And for the USU game at Idaho on Oct. 1, the attendance was announced at 15,000 when there were only about 7,000-8,000 actually there. "We are very careful that we're not harming this program, and we're counting correctly," Spetman said. "We have been accurate, and we will continue to be accurate. We know exactly how many people are in the stadium."
Isn't being 113th out of 117 in attendance because of your reporting, harming the program? If you are not counting tickets sold but not attending, then you are harming USU's program.
I am a big Aggie supporter and am very frustrated that it seems our attendance is not counted correctly, and it embarrasses us on the national stage. I think the football program is headed in the right direction. I hope our improving sports programs bring out more fans.
