Obituary: Bernice Wood Tischner

Bernice Wood Tischner 1923 ~ 2005 Born 2 October 1923 to William J. and Hazel Jones Wood. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away 12 November 2005 of complications incident to age and is now resting in peace with her Father in Heaven and loving family members. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Married Deryl D. Tischner, 18 November 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Bernice graduated from Jordan High School in 1942. She retired from the Cottonwood Hospital after 15 years of service. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous church positions. She was blessed with three sons and three daughters who were her pride and joy as well as her 31 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband; sister, Fern Smith; brother, Max (Mar-gie) Wood; sister, Marian McConnell; sons, Dwight (Tamra) Tischner and Kevin (Rita) Tischner; daughters, Linda T. Johnson, Vickie T. (John) Barton-div. and Denice (Tom) Dysart. Preceded in death by parents; two sisters; and son, Richard Tischner, who is survived by wife, Ruth Ann. Special thanks to CNS Community Nursing Services, RN's, Barbara Warner and Karen Thomas, and especially to Heather McAllister who served mom so well and really brought a smile back to her face. Funeral services will be held at the Belview Ward, 300 E. 6300 So. in Murray Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, 1 p.m. Viewing will be from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to service where family and friends may pay their last respects, and also Tuesday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South.
