Obituary: Tyler Gregory Poulson

Tyler Gregory Poulson Called to Serve Tyler G. Poulson returned to our Heavenly Father, Friday, November 11, 2005 as the result of a tragic accident in South Jordan. "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." Tyler's missionary scripture was the way he lived his life, an example to us all as he served others. Most recently, the people from the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission were blessed by his service. Tyler devoted two honorable years of service to our Heavenly Father serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We will probably never know the full impact of his service then, or his gifts of life now. Branch President Tillman of Joplin, Oklahoma shared that one particular brother shed tears when he found out that Elder Poulson was being transferred because Elder Poulson had helped him so much and had truly been a loving influence in his troubled life. Tyler left for his mission an eager young man, and returned a spiritual giant among men. He often expressed the desire to return to the mission field and will now fulfill that desire on his extended mission. During the short time since his return, Elder Poulson gained a reputation in the South Jordan area as a well-versed, inspired and spiritual speaker being sought after to speak in Sacrament Meetings and firesides. He also had a love of music and shared that love with his beautiful singing voice. Born May 31, 1984 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robin and Greg Poulson. Tyler graduated in 2003 from Bingham High School. Since returning from his mission, he has been employed by UPS. He will be greatly missed by his parents; younger brothers, Joshua, Jordan, Tyson, and Dillon; and his sweet little sisters, Emily and Stacey all of South Jordan; grandparents, Suzanne Heinits-Dodge of West Valley, Paul Dodge, Merelyn and Meredith Poulson all of Salt Lake City; also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, ward family members, and friends. We will miss his happy manner and infectious smile. "Life is not a contest, but rather a journey in which we can help one another to a better place." This statement from the Poulson home was truly the testimony of Tyler's life, please come and celebrate his life with us. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday, November 16, 2005, 1 p.m. at the River 1st Ward, 1451 West 10400 South. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, South Valley, 1007 West So.
