Marva Jeanne Kimball Pedersen 1934 ~ 2005 Marva Jeanne Kimball Pedersen was born in Murray, Utah October 26, 1934 and died surrounded by her family in Willard, Utah November 11, 2005 at the age of 71 years. She is the daughter of Griffith R. Kimball and Marvetta Hardcastle Kimball. She met Herbert N. Pedersen at Brigham Young University and they were married September 15, 1954 in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. The sealing was performed by Spencer W. Kimball, then a member of the Quorum of the Twelve. Their children are Andrea (Corwin) Slack, Houston, TX, Lise (Eric) Wenstrom, Idaho Falls, ID, Howard (Nellie Jo) Pedersen, N. Ogden, Alan (Becki) Pedersen, Brigham City, Vaughn, Salt Lake City, UT, and Karyn (Troy) Jensen, Perry, UT. She lived long enough to know and love her 24 grandchildren. During the early years of her marriage, she was employed by the Provo Herald as a writer/reporter. After the birth of their first child she worked part time for the Orem-Geneva Times, also as a writer /reporter. Marva Jeanne is the author of many published children's stories and poems. She is a member of the National League of American Pen Women, the Utah State Poetry Society, and several other poetry societies. She received many awards for her poetry. The family lived in Seattle and Richland, WA, before returning to Utah. She has been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life. The family thanks their many friends for their help during Marva Jeanne's long illness and the children thank their father for his selfless care and love of their mother. The following poem "Peace" won first place in a Utah State Poetry Contest and was her personal favorite. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Willard Peak Chapel, 665 W. 7615 S., Willard, UT. A viewing will be held at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT Monday, November 14, from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-10:40 a.m. at the church.
