Donald MacArthur Buttomer 1920 ~ 2005 On November 9, 2005 Donald M. Buttomer passed away following a short battle with cancer. He was born March 22, 1920 in Bucyrus, Kansas to Eugene F. and Anna K. Buttomer. Don was one of five children, having three sisters, Helen Gillihan (CO), Yvonne George (CO), Virginia Buttomer (deceased), and one brother, Harold Buttomer (deceased). He grew up in Olathe, Kansas and was known by all his friends as "Butter." He proudly served his country in the 35th Division of the U.S. Army from 1941-1945. He married M. Josephine Bone July 3, 1947. Don worked as a salesman for General Motors and retired in 1985. Don's legacy is that he was a friend to all and a stranger to no one. He loved to ski, bowl, golf, travel and he was the master of good times. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, his children, Carolyn Macken-zie, UT, Donna Riddell, CA; grandchildren, Thomas and Brian Mackenzie, UT, Brittany and Lexy Riddell, CA; and great-grandchildren, Lauryn and Hayden Mackenzie, UT. Preceded in death by son-in-law, Thomas W. Mac-kenzie. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2005, 12 noon at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, send contributions to The Huntsman Cancer Center in honor of Don Buttomer.
