Franklin K. Jones "Buckskin OREM, UT -Franklin Kent Jones, 68, of Orem, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the Timpanogos Hospital in Orem. He was born Nov.16, 1936 in Versailles, New York the son of William and Harriet Grace Lay Jones. He married Barbara Norwig September 20, 1958. They were later divorced. He attended Haskell Indian school in Lawrence, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. He worked as a com-mercial carpenter working on many large building, including Buffalo Bill Stadium in Buffalo, New York. He served in the American Indian Services. He loved woodworking. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was the first bishop of the married Lamanite Ward. Survivors include five daughters, Deborah (Lawrence) Curley, of Sandy, Shirley (Algernon) Baxter, of Spanish Fork, Colleen (Mike) Holder, of Orem, Cheryl (Sarit) Catchatoorian, of Charlotte, NC, Audrey (John) Baxter, of Matthews, NC; 16 grandchildren, Brad, Chad, Beaner, Cortney, Nicole, Danielle, Lynzee, Algie, Skyler, Sam, Latisha, Cassie, Isaac, Joshua, Kendra, Chandler; one great-grandchild, Shayne; one brother and five sisters, Alma Geertsen, of Salt Lake, Janice Snyder, of Buffalo, New York, Corline (Monty) Campbell, of Gowanda, New York, Carolyn Lay, of Versailles, New York, Hugh Jones, of Cattaraugus, New York, Helen BigHorse, of California; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and three brothers. The family would like to thank Provo Dialysis Center, Golden Living Center, Dr. Eppich and staff, and the Intensive Care Unit at Timpanogos Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Spanish Fork East Stake Center, 870 East Canyon Road, Spanish Fork. Friends may call at the Baxter Home, 1502 South 1700 East, Spanish Fork Monday evening 6-8 p.m. or Tuesday at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services.
