Jeannine Mary Kline Archibald 1/22/29 ~ 11/11/05 Our dearly beloved mother, Jean-nine Mary Kline Archibald, passed peacefully back into the arms of her husband, Richard Archibald, who preceded her in death June 24, 2003. They were married at ages 16 and 17, and when he died her heart left with him. For the past 21/2 years her sole desire was to be back with him. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 15th. They were sealed together forever in the Los Angeles Temple in June of 1958. Jeannine was born Jan. 22, 1929 in White River, South Dakota, the daughter of Julius Kline and Vera Van Schaack. She spent her high school years in Salt Lake City where she attended West High. After six years of marriage, they moved to San Diego, CA. in 1951 where they remained for 36 years making many wonderful friends and lasting memories. Here she attended Grossmont Community College receiving her Associates Degree. She enjoyed and maintained a beautifully manicured yard producing bushels of plums, apricots, peaches, oranges, lemons, and berries. Her flowers blossomed year round and brought beauty to the whole neigh-borhood. Her favorite flowers were always lilacs and roses. Jeannine was a master quilter. She patiently pieced and hand-quilted quilts for all of her children, grandchildren, and many special friends. She tied baby quilts for everyone she knew that had a baby. Many of these quilts have been passed down from one generation to the next. Each blanket represents her love and selfless service. Jeannine had a special talent for sensing the needs of others before they were ever made known. Her kitchen counters were always covered with special homemade treats and crafts to give away to friends. Their retirement years found them living in Sandy, Utah to be nearer to their family. Here her talents continued to be nourished and more wonderful friendships were developed. Jeannine was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many church callings. Her two favorites were those she filled with her husband, including a fulltime mission to Bristol England and temple workers in the Jordan River Temple. She loved the temple! She spent many hours doing family history where she found great joy in blessing her eternal family. The family was always her first and foremost priority. She is the mother of four children, Rick (Martha) Archibald, Corona, CA, Noreen (Martin) Peterson, Sandy, UT, Steve (Toni) Archibald, Darby, MT, Annette Knight, Poulsbo, WA. She delighted in her 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Her love lives on in us all. The family expresses a heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Wentworth at Willow Creek and their Stratford Severe Care Unit for making such a beautiful, loving HOME setting for our mother over the past 31/2 years. We thank Hospice 4 Utah for helping her gently ease from this life to the next. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, 10 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
