I cannot hold my frustration in any longer. Shame on the four members of Granite's school board who did not do what was fiscally right and needed for our district. There were too many voices raised in emotion rather than responsibility. Patricia Sandstrom says $3 million is a lot of money and she doesn't know where the cuts will be made, but they will make it work (Nov. 10 Deseret Morning News). I can tell you where those cuts will come from: teacher benefits and salaries and valuable school programs. There will be a tax increase for all of us. We need to get someone on the board to come to his or her senses, change his or her vote and close some schools.
