In response to Allen Barney's shortsighted letter (Readers' Forum, Nov. 11), the Granite School District has done little for the crumbling facilities of the east side. It has underfunded all of its schools and not seemed to care about east-side schools. East-side schools, such as Wasatch, receive more than $5 million per year from students coming from Jordan or other districts. It also seems convenient that all of the people on the board besides one reside in Taylorsville, the area where Mr. Barney lives, and only one actually represents the east side. The people of the east side are being taxed without being represented.
