Soon, all Utah students will be required to complete a class to help them acquire basic financial skills. A preview of the syllabus reveals the following suggestions:

When your budget is tight, solve the problem by spending even more money.

Pretend to seek financial advice, but then completely ignore it.

Rather than selling expendable items, commit to buying more expensive goodies, even though not needed.

Give in to peer pressure and grant gifts and privileges to those who are older, louder and have bigger piggy banks.

Look out for your own interests and ignore the needs of the family.
