ALLEN INDICTED: Boston Celtics guard Tony Allen was indicted Wednesday on three counts of aggravated battery stemming from a fight that escalated into a shooting outside a Chicago diner in August.
Cook County state's attorney spokesman Tom Stanton said the indictment was read to Allen during a hearing Wednesday. Allen did not enter a plea.
Allen, who was charged last month with aggravated battery and released on a $150,000 bond, is scheduled to return to court Dec. 6 for arraignment, Stanton said.
MARTIN MISSES GAME: Denver forward Kenyon Martin missed the Nuggets' game against the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday night with tendinitis in his left knee. Martin was not sure if he'd be able to play against the New York Knicks on Friday night. After sitting out Sunday's game against Minnesota, Martin played eight minutes against Dallas on Tuesday night before leaving.
He said it's possible he would consider sitting out several games to give the knee time to heal before trying to return again.
MEDVEDENKO HURTING: Lakers forward Slava Medvedenko will miss about six weeks after being diagnosed with a herniated disc. Medvedenko injured his back in a game at Minnesota on Nov. 9. He has played in two games, averaging 1.0 points and 0.5 rebounds.
