OREM — Three bands will perform at Orem High tonight at 7:30 p.m. in a benefit concert for Orem resident Jimmy Pratt.
The bands — Palomino, Jerrytown and Sweet Haven — will raise money for Pratt, 26, who suffered severe leg injuries in an accident last month.
Pratt, an avid gymnast and gymnastics coach, has undergone multiple surgeries in an attempt to restore muscles and arteries to his leg.
Such treatment has cost the family almost $500,000, and the costs are still climbing. But there's no help from insurance.
Pratt was just dropped from his mother's health-insurance plan and was in the process of getting his own insurance through work when the accident happened.
The family is rallying around him for support and said they will work to get him healthy, then deal with the financial burden.
The benefit concert is the first step to raise money, the family said. Donations to Jimmy Pratt can also be made at any Zion's Bank.
