Religion isn't black and white

I am a firm believer in the separation of church and state. I don't believe that politicians should use religion to be for or against an issue. Religions are different, but we can all agree on some issues, such as loving others. I would also like to point out that although many people are born under a certain religion, that does not mean that they adhere to all of those religion's beliefs. It is a fact that any given religion has 30 percent or fewer so-called "active" people. And many don't "adhere" to any one religion but still desire to have peace, love and equal rights for all.
