Obituary: Earl Wayland Hathenbruck

Earl Wayland Hathenbruck 04/01/16 ~ 11/17/05 It is difficult to describe how much this man meant to his family and friends. He was thoughtful, caring, loving and had a great sense of humor. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend will be greatly missed. He was born April 1, 1916 in Heber City to Sarah June Cummings & Willard Earl Hathenbruck. He died Nov. 17, 2005 at home surrounded by his family. He graduated from Wasatch High school in Heber City in 1936 were he lettered in every major sport. He was an avid sportsman and loved to fish and bowl. He attended the University of Utah. He met the love of his life Alta Naomi Pike at a ward dance in 1937 and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple May 25, 1938. He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, one daughter Linda (Michael) Key (Salt Lake City), two sons Gene (Jeannie) Hathenbruck (Ogden), Steven (Sara) Hathenbruck (Kearns) eight grandchildren and 13 great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by two sons Larry (Norma) Hathenbruck and Keith (Betty) Hathenbruck, his parents, one sister and three brothers. Funeral Services will be Monday, November 21, 2005, 11 a.m. at Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Dr. Friends and family may visit Sunday, November 20, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at Cottonwood and one hour prior to service Monday. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr. www.celebratinglife-ut.com
