Obituary: Mary Margaret Winkelkotter

Mary Margaret Winkelkotter 1915 ~ 2005 Mary Margaret Winkelkotter passed away Thursday November 17, 2005. Mary was born June 30, 1915 to Walter and Sarah Knapton. Mom lived in many places, from Nevada to Wyoming to Utah, holding many callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The love of her life, Wilford, worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, it was his job that took them to these places. Mom and Dad were married November 26, 1938. The marriage was later solemnized Dec. 10, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mom loved her family and spending as much time as possible with them. She is survived by four children, Arvin (Mardi) Winkelkotter, Elko, NV, Mary (David) Leonhardt, Las Vegas, NV, Janice (Ron) Gates, Coalville, UT, Susan (Jim) Schmitt, Erda UT; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grand-children, and growing; three sisters, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her love, Wilford; one great-grand-daughter, Brittany; one sister; and three brothers. Mom was loved by all who met her and we will miss her deeply. Services will be Tuesday November 22, 11 a.m. at the Mt. Jordan LDS chapel, 9331 S. 300 E, Sandy. Friends and family may call Monday Nov. 21, from 6-8 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 So. 2200 West, Riverton and also one hour prior to the funeral services Tuesday. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens. "Thanks, Mom, for your love. We love you and will miss you. Your four children."
