Obituary: Virginia Bennion Bryan

Virginia Bennion Bryan 1918 ~ 2005 Virginia Bennion Bryan, 87, passed away in her home in West Valley City, November 18, 2005. She was born May 30, 1918 to parents Archie and Sadie Bennion. Virginia worked on the farm for her crippled father. She spent many hours riding her favorite horse, "Pet." She graduated from Cyprus High School and also took flying lessons. She worked at Remington Arms factory and later at the Hanford Site. Later she retired from civil service and went to work at KUTV. She was married August 3, 1946 to Rex Bryan in Salt Lake City; they were later divorced. Mom loved to travel and enjoyed long rides. She used to go on spur of the moment trips on weekends. She played piano for vaudeville shows all over the state. She loved to sew pictures and sewed all our clothes except jeans 'till teens. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Byron, Rex, and Udell; as well as her sisters, Carma and Jasmin. She is survived by all seven children, Penny B. Barragan (Alfonso), Jenny Lee Bryan, Arlene Bryan, Mary Ann Speirs (Russ), Judith Bryan, Sam Bryan (Holly), and Rielly Bryan (Mary Ellen); nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, who all miss her dearly. Thanks to Hearts for Hospice for their compassionate care and concern. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2005, 2 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Friends and family may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. or Tuesday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
