Obituary: Walter "Gwynne" Page

Walter "Gwynne" Page 1915 ~ 2005 Gwynne was born August 28, 1915 in Lark, Utah the son of English immigrants, William Oliver and Alice Morris Page. He passed away peacefully at his home, of natural causes, November 19, 2005 at age 90. Gwynne married Ivy Cardwell, the love of his life, December 9, 1935 in the Salt Lake Temple and began their life together on their Bluffdale farm, raising chickens, fox, mink, horses, and Shetland ponies. He was an avid gardener, flowers being his favorite. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings. With his wife, Ivy, they served in the Ohio, Cleveland Mission. He remained a faithful home teacher his entire life. Dad was a very loving, kind, generous husband, father, grandfather, and neighbor; a true gentleman. Gwynne is survived by his wife, Ivy; and their five children, LeRoy (Darlene), Alpine, Jay (Peggy), Bluffdale, Nola (Chuck) Hobbs, American Fork, Wilma (Jerry) Wilkinson, Cumming, GA, Carolyn, (Mike) Bergstrom, West Jordan; 27 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Morris (Jane), Bob; and one sister, Mildred Collett. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wilma Fowkes; four grandchildren, Holly Dawn Woodward, Sherie Lee Woodward, Vonnie Page, and Wendy Wilkinson. A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 22, 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.), South Jordan and Wednesday, November 23, from 10-10:45 a.m. at Bluffdale 7th Ward, 14662 South 3200 West, Bluffdale, where funeral services will follow at 11 am. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park South Valley, 13001 South 3600 West, Riverton.
