OGDEN — Author Eric Schlosser will appear at Weber State University on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m., in the Shepherd Union Ballroom. He will discuss his book "Fast Food Nation." The event is free and open to the public.
Dubbed a modern-day muckraker, Schlosser is also known for his book "Reefer Madness" and is currently working on a book that examines why "the land of the free" has the world's largest prison population.
Schlosser's visit to WSU is part of a new reading program that invites first-year students to read and discuss books in groups. Each of the 100 students who signed up this year received a free copy of "Fast Food Nation," which spent more than two years on the New York Times' best-seller list.
