Salt Lake residents will be able to take a walk through a traditional Middle Eastern marketplace when the Salt Lake Jewish community invites the public to experience Jewish culture as part of the Jewish Art and Food Festival Sunday, Dec. 4.
The shook, or outdoor market, will include traditional Jewish cuisine and art booths. Street entertainers will perform Klezmir music, Israeli dancing and Jewish theatrical selections. Children can listen to storytelling in Bedouin tents or play in the art yard.
Festivities will start at noon and continue until 5 p.m. at the I.J. & Jeanne Wagner Jewish Community Center, No. 2 N. Medical Drive, across from University Hospital in Salt Lake City. A $1 donation is the suggested entrance fee.
