John Scott (Readers' Forum, Nov. 24) states: "It is ironic that the administration, along with conservative radio and Fox News, try to discredit and suppress the voice of dissent here in America." Actually, study after study has indicated that the American press has a quantifiable liberal bias. A recent Stanford University study indicated that Fox News was the only major news outlet near the center of American politics. Therefore, I find it ironic that anyone who actually dares to question Bush's critics and voices the other side is automatically labeled as one who "suppresses dissent." I have no great devotion to Bush or conservative politics, but such duplicitous arguments are why I find spoiled, insular faux progressives to be a far greater threat to freedom and democracy than Bill O'Reilly.
