PROVO — Utah County officials have closed the section of the Provo River Parkway that passes through the Bridal Veil Falls area.
The closure affects the area of the trail from the trail's entrance at Provo City Park to the new bridge just north of Bridal Veil Falls. It will be closed until at least April 1.
The view area for the waterfall remains open.
An avalanche at Bridal Veil last December sent snow, trees, rocks and other debris crashing over the falls. Snow from the avalanche lasted until June, and the mess was not completely cleaned up until late summer.
Officials say conditions at the top of Bridal Veil could make for a repeat occurrence this winter.
Concrete barriers have been put in place to mark where the trail is closed.
