The 2005 Utah Sports Hall of Fame inductees, from left, Paul Ream, John Robison, Amy Palmer, Elaine Michaelis and Doug Palazzari pose for a photo prior to a banquet in their honor at the Delta Center Thursday.

Ream established the Great American Shootout golf tournament and raises thousands of dollars for scholarships, particularly for Native Americans. Robison, an assistant principal in Bountiful, has been a football official in the NFL as well as college and high school for 32 years.

Palmer, from Grantsville, was a six-time all-American at BYU in the shot put and hammer throw. She finished eighth in the hammer in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Michaelis recently retired from BYU after a long career coaching the Cougars volleyball team and had the team's court named after her. She was a charter inductee into the American Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Palazzari skated for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles starting in 1977 and led the team to a pair of Adams Cup seasons. He recently retired as director of USA Hockey and was the Golden Eagles' career scoring leader when he finished his playing career in Salt Lake.
