Obituary: John A. Farnsworth, Jr.

John A. Farnsworth, Jr. 1929 ~ 2005 John A. Farnsworth, Jr. of Farmington, Utah passed away November 23, 2005, in Las Vegas, of natural causes. He was born July 14, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John A. Farnsworth and Lovina Earl. He was a graduate of Granite High School in Salt Lake City. He served in the Army during World War II, landing at Normandy Beach on "D" day, then proceeded through Northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns. He married Geraldine Jackson in September 1947; later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple. She survives him in death. He was an active member of the LDS church and held the priesthood in good standing. He worked for Young Electric Sign Company for 38 years in both Las Vegas and Utah as a foreman. John enjoyed golf and lapidary and was active in gem clubs in both Utah and Las Vegas. He loved spending time with his extensive family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard; and a grandson, Little Michael. He is survived by his seven children, Susan (Stephen) Burton, Las Vegas, Christine (Michael) Jones, Phoenix, Gloria Vallette, Farmington, John A. Farnsworth III, and fiancee (Sherrie), Ogden, Clara (Russ) Hickam, West Valley City, Brenda (Wayne) Hadley, Huntsville, and Preston (Dawn) Farnsworth), Las Vegas. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grand-children. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday, November 30, 2005, 1 p.m. at the Canyon View Ward chapel, 850 North Compton Rd. (300 W.) Farmington, Utah. Friends and Family may call Tuesday, November 29, 2005, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Russon Brothers Farmington Mortuary, 1941 North Main, Farmington, Utah and Wednesday from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
