Turn 4 districts into one

Government entities all share a common malady when they exist for an extended period of time. They become top-heavy with managers and support personnel. The reasons are simple. Pay scales for government managers are determined by the number of people a manager has working for him or her, the complexity of the task and the education and experience of the employee.

As a manager, to increase your salary, you create new management levels at a higher pay, which in turn raises your own level.

The UEA fits the profile well. According to estimates, there are three managers or support personnel for each teacher. Our teachers get a small percentage of the tax dollars. The solution is as simple as the cause. As a pilot program in Salt Lake County, eliminate the four school districts and form one school district. This frees up cash for more teachers.
