SPANISH FORK — Students at Spanish Fork Middle School donated more than 20,000 items to the Utah County Emergency Food Bank in November.
The food drive went from Nov. 7-18. It was the ninth year the school has had the drive. The Character Education Student Council, the school's student service organization, set the goal at 18,000 food items. Fifth-period classes competed against each other to donate the most items. When the counting was finished, 20,492 food items were donated.
Three truck loads hauled the items to the food bank.
