Obituary: Emil Savage

Emil Savage "Together Again" Emil Savage passed away on October 28, 2005. Emil was born on November 6, 1912. He was the sixth child of Perry John and Marta Savage. On April 21, 1935, Emil married Burtie "Bea" Hansen; their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Temple. Together they enjoyed 66 wonderful years of marriage. Emil's adoration for Bea never faded. Emil was first employed by Porter Walton Seed Co. where his love of gardening was cultivated. At the age of 30, Emil began his career with General Motors Corp. During his tenure he achieved all of the top mentions as a District Manager. Emil was a remarkable example of strength and honesty, a man of unmeasurable character whose zest for life was admired. Anyone who had the opportunity to spend a few moments with him will always remember his personable smile, infectious laugh and sincere silver-blue eyes. He cherished the time spent with his family, whether it was for Sunday dinner or "just getting out". He delighted in hunting, fishing, golfing and endless hours in his garden and could always be found enjoying the evening breeze on his back porch. His conversation will be deeply missed and his teachings of life never far from our thoughts. Emil was preceded in death by his wife, Bea and daughter, Claudia Marquez. He is survived by his son, Scott Savage (Holly); former daughter-in-law, Jan Nielsen; grandchildren, Sean Savage, Marta Savage-Stott (Sean), Chris Reynolds, Kirk Reynolds, Tim Reynolds, Kerri Jo Pietramala (Jim); great grandchildren, Kimberly Jo Pacheco (Mike), Lanie Pietramala, Richie Reynolds, Sage Bea Stott; great-great grandson, Dominic Pacheco; sister, Rosella Mills; and brother, Ken Savage. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., where friends and family may call from 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
