PROVO — Donna Lee Bowen from the political science department at Brigham Young University will lead the discussion at the Women's Studies Book Club luncheon on Thursday at noon in room 4188 of the Joseph F. Smith Building on campus.
"Reading Lolita in Tehran," by Azar Nafizi, will be the featured book at the meeting. The bestseller portrays Nafizi's personal vantage point during the Iranian Islamic Revolution. Nafizi sees her life taken over by the revolutionary forces, while it also opens her life to deeper understanding through literature — in particular The Great Gatsby as it becomes a parallel for the revolution.
The public is invited.
