USDA will join 'Walk a Mile' work initiative

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service announced that the USDA will join the "Walk a Mile in My Boots" initiative, a work-exchange program between agriculture producers and government employees.

Initial participation will involve up to 10 pilot exchanges in Utah, Arizona, California, Colorado and New Mexico. Generally, exchanges will last about two weeks, during which farmers and ranchers will visit NRCS field offices, state offices or NRCS headquarters, while NRCS employees will visit ranches or farms and participate in their daily operations.

Application information for the initiative is available at www.nrcs.usda.gov/feature/volunteers/walkamile.html.
