In response to Ike May's letter (Readers' Forum, Nov. 1), May fails to understand that the ACLU works to secure rights granted under the Bill of Rights. These rights are not guaranteed to American citizens when they travel abroad. If he has a problem with his treatment by the Mexican authorities, he can file a complaint with the United States Consulate. If he has a problem with hurricanes, he should perhaps watch the weather channel. In either case, the ACLU has nothing to do with the matter.
