I am a Granite School District parent who is thrilled that the school board is making some hard decisions to benefit all students in the district. The school board realized that schools needed to be closed, and created an options committee to research it. Two of the three options include closing five Granite schools. Options 1 and 3 save $3.4 million per year. This makes good sense and would benefit all children much more than keeping certain schools open that are not needed. Hopefully the board will be able to look past the vocal minority and do what is best for everyone.
