Vida Berg Peterson 1908 ~ 2005 Vida Berg Peterson, 97, passed away Nov. 2, 2005, in Orem, Utah. Born in Midway, Utah to John Emeli-us and Elizabeth Bergner Berg, January 29, 1908; she later moved to American Fork, Utah where she attended school, graduating from American Fork High School. In 1929, she married Howard Peterson in the Salt Lake Temple. They began their married life in American Fork, but later moved to Burlingame, California, where they spent much of their married life. She and Howard returned to Utah in 1974, settling in Orem. Vida was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many organizations in her ward in Burlingame. She started the first Primary in Burlingame in the 1940's, holding the first meetings in her home. She was a visiting teacher through her entire adult life. She served a mission with her husband in the Virginia, Roanoke Mission in 1975-76. She also served as an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple for many years. Most recently, she served in the Member Locator Mission, in American Fork, Utah, until December, 2003. Vida was proud of her pioneer heritage and was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers in California and Utah. She loved to work with her hands, making quilts and crocheting blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved to work in her garden. Her husband and two sons, Robert Howard and Grant Berg, preceded Vida in death. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Mrs. Clark) Webb, of Lindon; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren; and her sister, Marie Brown, of Orem. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff, especially the nurses and aides, at Hearts for Hospice for their loving care and concern for Vida in her last days. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2005, 11 a.m. in the Suncrest 10th Ward, 90 North 600 West, Orem, Utah. Friends may call at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. The services are under the direction of Berg Mortuary in Provo. Interment will be at the American Fork Cemetery.
