Obituary: Carolyn Jane Sipherd

Carolyn Jane Sipherd 5/7/1941 ~ 11/2/2005 Carolyn Jane Dixon Sipherd, known to most as "Shug" or "Sam" died in her sleep November 2, 2005. She was 64 years old. She was born to Sylvia and Glen Dixon May 7, 1941 in Salt Lake City, UT. Carolyn embodied thoughtfulness and kindness. She always put everyone else first. She had the most wonderful and unique sense of humor. She always made people laugh. She was great with kids. They all loved her. She had amazing musical talent and could play the piano for anyone at anytime in any key. Carolyn had a completely genuine, Christ-like love for everyone. Carolyn taught elementary education for 21 years. She is survived by her husband, James Maurice Sipherd; brothers, Dennis Dixon, David Dixon; sister, Marianne Scharrier; and her five children, Allyson Hill, Anne Yeargin, Amy Freeman, Andrew Sipherd, Andrea Sipherd; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2005, 1 p.m. at Yalecrest Ward, 1050 South 1800 East. A viewing will be held from 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services.
