Margie Ruth Gatherum Taylor 1919 ~ 2005 Margie Ruth Gatherum Taylor, 86, of Pleasant Grove, longtime Millcreek Canyon resident, passed away peacefully November 4, 2005 at home with close family and friends by her side. She was born May 3, 1919 in Provo to Claude William and Ella Beardall Gatherum. She married Marvin Stillman Taylor September 12, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. Margie grew up in Holladay and attended Irvine Junior High School where she enjoyed dancing in school assemblies. She graduated from Granite High School. Margie attended beauty school and became a licensed cosmetologist where she worked on Hollywood Blvd for several years. After raising her family, she owned and operated Classic Wigs in the Cottonwood Mall. Beauty was a big part of her life both in her career and by the way she lived her life. She enjoyed the art of dancing, loved reading good books and the scriptures. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings during her life. Margie lived a prosperous life filled with love and kindness, always sharing her beautiful smile with all who grew to love her. A special sparkle was always there for those men that entered her life. She was grateful to her youngest daughter, LaVella, and her loving husband, Bernie, for the wonderful care they gave to her over the years, especially in her final days. She is survived by her three daughters, Marva Eunice (Charles) Parke, Highland, Tillie Joan (Robert) Daniels, Idaho Falls, LaVella Pam (Bernie) Hopkin, Pleasant Grove; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and many loving children who called her grandma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; sons, Leslie, Marvin "Shirl", Kim Stanley, and Claude Wren; sister, Norma Belle Cole; and brother, Sherman Edward Gatherum. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Grovecreek Fifth Ward chapel, 500 North 700 East, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to services.
