Darwin J. Isom 10/16/17 ~ 11/05/05 Darwin J. Isom (Bill) was born Oct. 16, 1917 in Hurricane, UT. When he was two years old his mother died in childbirth. Bill attended Dixie Jr. College in St. George, later transferring to Utah State University where he graduated with a degree in industrial bacteriology. He worked in the canning industry and was employed by Rocky Mountain Packing Corp. and Hunt Foods of Utah. Bill served in the Naval Air Corps during World War II. He married Mary Petterson in the Logan Temple, June of 1944 while on leave from the Navy. They have five children. He served in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Mary bought a ranch in Wyoming where he enjoyed working. He is survived by his wife, Mary; and their children, Richard (Carol), Pegram, Idaho, Stephen (Terri), Lyman WY, Mark (Cynde), Lyman, Joan North (Mike), The Dalles, OR, Wade (Sharyn), Midway, UT; sister, Hazel Isom Nelson, Cedar City, UT; 31 grandchildren; and 23 great-grand-children. Preceded in death by his grandson, David Dahn Isom. The family wishes to thank IHC Hospice, especially Nubia and Jan. A funeral will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2005, 11 a.m. at the Canyon Rim Ward building, 3100 East 3000 South. Friends and family may visit Tuesday November 8, from 7-9 p.m. at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, Salt Lake City, UT and for one hour prior to services from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund.
